The purpose of this manual is to detail the entire integration process of the T6 Planning solution with MicroStrategy, covering scenarios from a basic setup where both portals are on the same server to more complex scenarios where integration occurs on different servers.
The integration between the two solutions happens seamlessly, simplistically, and comprehensively. The navigation from MicroStrategy to T6 Planning and vice versa is entirely streamlined and does not cause visual impacts. It also allows changes made in the T6 Planning model to be replicated in Metrics within the MicroStrategy project.
The installation and integration process are automatic, using the T6 Planning installer, which will perform the main configurations. Only in specific cases, depending on the integration scenario, some manual modifications may be necessary.
The components of the T6 Planning integration with MicroStrategy can be installed and configured in various scenarios. Options range from a scenario where all components run on the same machine to scenarios where each component runs on a separate machine, with or without redundancy.
The various scenario specifications depend on different factors such as the number of users, size, model design, application complexity, and others. These details are pointed out in the detailed analysis of critical factors for the company's environment during the deployment planning. It is essential that this analysis be carried out by a T6 Planning technical consultant alongside the client's IT team.
Based on this pre-implementation study, there are two possible scenarios to consider in the integration installation. They are:
Unified Scenario: In this scenario, both the T6 Planning portal and the MicroStrategy portal are on the same server.
Distributed Scenario: In this scenario, the T6 Planning portal is on one server, while the MicroStrategy portal is on a separate server.
Regardless of the chosen scenario, the integration will remain transparent to users.
This chapter covers the steps of installing T6 Planning integrated with MicroStrategy in two different situations. The first assumes that no T6 Planning installation has been performed yet, and configurations for both T6 Planning and MicroStrategy will be done from scratch, according to the characteristics of the scenario to be used. The second situation deals with an already installed and properly configured T6 Planning application (STD), in which the integration with MicroStrategy will be installed.
Extract the contents of the T6 Planning 11.1_xxxxxxx.zip file to a folder of your choice, where a folder named T6 Planning will be created automatically. Open this folder and locate the Installer.exe file. Double-click on it to run the T6 Planning installer. It is important to note that the installer can only be run by a user with Administrator access to the operating system.
The Unified Scenario is one in which the T6 Planning and MicroStrategy portals are on the same server. In this scenario, running the installer on the applications server is a one-time process.
The MicroStrategy Integration and Install MicroStrategy modules, when executed simultaneously, allow certain installer steps to be configured automatically, making the installation faster and more dynamic.
The T6 Planning installer supports three installation languages: Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The installation language will be automatically set by the installer based on the user's operating system language.
When you run the installer, you'll see a brief description of T6 Planning on the initial screen. To proceed with the installation, click the Next button.

The next screen will display the available installation types: New Installation, Update Installation, and Remove Previous Installation. You can install T6 Planning even if the computer already has an application installed, allowing multiple independent installations of T6 Planning.
After selecting the desired installation type, proceed to the next screen.

The following screen will show the License Agreement. Read the license terms carefully, and if you disagree, click Cancel to exit the installer. If you agree to the terms, proceed to the next screen.

When integrating T6 Planning with the MicroStrategy portal, some files need to be created or modified in the MicroStrategy Web portal. These configurations aim to correctly display T6 Planning within the MicroStrategy portal and should only be performed under the supervision of a T6 Planning Technical Consultant, as any modification without this supervision may result in integration errors.
The following sections detail which files are created or modified in this step of the integration process.
In this step, new configuration entries necessary for some T6 Planning components are added, along with a new database connection string, whose data was filled in the MicroStrategy - Database step during the integration installation.
The scripts that will be executed by the Command Manager through T6 Planning must be configured in the Web.config of the WebASPX portal. Some configurations will be created and filled automatically during installation, including:
The Command Manager tool aims to replicate, in MicroStrategy Metrics, the changes made in the dimensions of T6 Planning.
Immediately after installing the integration with T6 Planning, user permissions in the Command Manager folder and file must be checked. To do this, the MicroStrategy ApplicationPool user must have access to execute, in the Command Manager folder and file (CMDMGR.exe).

After identifying the ApplicationPool user, check if it has permission to access and execute the MicroStrategy Command Manager.
When integrating T6 Planning with the MicroStrategy Web portal, some files are automatically changed and configured by the integration installer.
In addition, other T6 Planning files are also copied to the MicroStrategy Web portal, responsible for displaying the T6 Planning menu, Task, Alert, and Note boxes, as well as images and files related to the T6 Planning theme. These files are located in the Web ASPx\asp\ and Web ASPx\asp\Sysphera folders of the MicroStrategy portal.
It is not the purpose of this manual to detail all these files, as they do not require changes after the integration installation, aiming only to present the T6 Planning interface within MicroStrategy, enabling navigation in applications.
During the integration process, the T6 Planning installer makes some changes to MicroStrategy portal files. At this point, a backup of the original files affected during integration is created in the T6 Planning installation directory.
This chapter is focused on resolving potential problems that may occur during the integration between T6 Planning and MicroStrategy portals.
This topic covers problems that may occur during the installation of the integration between T6 Planning and MicroStrategy portals, and their respective solutions.
